Project '86 Capsule
Teammates, Rivals, Legends.
To commemorate our journey over the Alps for the L'Etape du Tour in 2022, we have released a special edition capsule collection called Project '86. Why '86? The parcours, which will be covered by the peloton a few days later on Bastille Day, is legendary. The Col du Galibier, Col de la Croix de Fer and the mythic Alpe d'Huez, will replicate the same course which saw Greg Lemond "L'Americain" and Bernard Hinault "Le Blaireau" cross the finish line together at Stage 18 of the 1986 Tour de France. This moment in cycling history cemented LeMond as the first American to win the Tour de France and was a shift in globalising professional cycling.
The inspiration for Project '86 came from the Mondrian patterns of the La Vie Claire cycling Team in which both Lemond and Hinault were Teammates. Project '86 is both an homage to the past and an evolution of this timeless style.
This July, our Team will add our own story along this cycling pilgrimage. 168 kilometers and 4700 meters of climbing await us. See you at the top of the Alpe for cold glass of rosé!
